The 11 Cases of Elective Splenectomy

Abstract
|
|
|
A clinical observation and literatural review was made on 11 cases of splenctomy, which ahd hematologicdisorder during the past 6 years from March 1958 to February, 1964 at Chonnam University Hospital.
1. p cases among them were idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Three cases of the "disease had no response to the preoperative use of steroid hormon and 6 cases of that recurrence after preoperative steroid therapy. Seven cases of them had improvement and 2 of them had partial improvement on clinical and laboratory study.
2. Two cases of the 11 cases were hereditary spherocytosis and resulted in clinical cure by splenectomy.
